About the class

This playful workshop will explore the process of group work skills through a series of creative activities lead by local social artist Ray Ray Mitrano. Participants will be challenged with embracing interruptions, reacting thematically to each other, and integrating their individual decisions through a sequence of drawing games and relational exercises. All levels of art experience are not only encouraged, but necessary in making this exercise valuable for the group as a whole.

We are so excited to have you returning to 540WMain. What can folks expect from your class?
RRM: Expect to explore the question “why is it that people can do some things so well, but when it comes to doing them with others, they get stuck?”
Why should the community buy tickets to this class?
RRM: Buying tickets and signing up online helps me prepare for who is, or isn’t coming. I work other part-time jobs and often have to reschedule that work to accommodate this work. If signing up beforehand is easy for you to do, I encourage you to do it!
How do you balance running your own business with your personal life?
RRM: Boundaries. Working in structureless, nothing-emphasized time into my calendar and between commitments. Separating my communication methods. Saying “No” confidently.

What project are you most excited about that coming up?

RRM: A card game, and having the trust and space to work on it with a couple people in a slow, thoughtful way.

What are you doing for the holidays?
RRM: Connecting with family and gifting each other experiences that are anchored in play and creativity. Making meals together.
