Announcing Plant-Based Residency at Genesee Country Village Museum

I am pleased to announce my first week long residency at Genesee Country Village Museum Summer Camp

Dear Community,

This week July 22- 26, 2019 is a very special week for myself and 540Summer Interns. We will spend the week in Mumford, NY participating in the Genesee Country Village Museum’s Summer Camp. I’ve been invited to teach and curate for the first time ever the Plant Based Gluten Free Cooking & Baking for Teens (ages 11-14). Our interns will be placed as volunteers at other camps happening concurrently throughout the village. The entire experience is completely new and exciting for me and our summer program. I cannot wait to share my passion for plant-based cooking and baking with teens and spend time exploring, learning, and creating new creative connections. I look forward to sharing behind the scenes pictures and video on 540WMain’s official Instagram stories  all week long.

About Plant Based Gluten Free Cooking & Baking for Teens

This camp will focus on educating the whole person through experiential farm to table
cooking and baking. Students learn the basics of gluten free and plant based cooking and
baking through hands on garden and agriculture experiences, Q&A, demonstration, art
and more.

Genesee Country Village Museum’s Summer Camp

The 19th-century village setting provides a one-of-a-kind journey to the past for children who are interested in history. On the other hand, the GCV&M campus encompasses over 600 acres for exploration and play for children who love having fun outdoors. These weeklong day camps take place Monday through Friday, with the first session beginning the week of July 8 and the last session beginning the week of August 12, 2019.

Children, ages 6-15, can embark on your full day adventure from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Half-day adventures (morning or afternoon sessions) are offered for younger campers, ages 4-6. For youth ages 14-18, we offer a Volunteer Class Assistant program to gain valuable leadership skills (more information can be found below). Class fees range from $115 to $270 per week, with a 10% discount available for GCV&M members. Our full list of classes can be found in the 2019 Class List PDF. For your convenience we offer a supervised camp bus from Rochester and extended care options. More information about these options can be found in the Extra Services PDF. Advance registration is required and programs fill quickly, so register your child today!
