To engage and bring awareness to the work that black women are doing in Rochester to shape our city for the better; work that might not otherwise be recognized. We are bombarded every single day with so many negative and toxic stories and images of black men and women from local and national news media that it can be easy to overlook the wealth of positive action that is taking place right in our own backyards.  Creating this special campaign to highlight the good work that is happening in our community is our way of counteracting the negativity.

Do you know an amazing black woman doing amazing work to uplift, engage and educate the Rochester community?

Nominate a Black Woman that Rocks! the Rochester Community.
