**Special Announcement** 540WMain Founder Accepted into Leadership Rochester Program

Dear Community,

I am excited to announce that I have been accepted into the 2018-2019 cohort of Leadership Rochester. Leadership Rochester’s mission is to develop and advance leaders through participation in personal, professional, and community activities designed to encourage individual responsibility for taking an active leadership role in the future vitality of the Greater Rochester area.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to participate in this amazing leadership development program right here in the City of Rochester. The program starts on September 13 with a two day retreat with subsequent sessions occurring once per month through 2019. I am elated to embark on this amazing professional development opportunity.

About Leadership Rochester

Established in 1991, Leadership Rochester identifies 35-45 emerging and existing leaders each year and brings them together for monthly sessions with key leaders to discuss the significant issues affecting Rochester and Monroe County. Participants in this dynamic, tuition based, 9 month program represent a diverse cross section of private, non- profit, government and faith based sectors of the community. By the end of the program participants will be able to:

  • Apply personal strengths to build leadership capabilities and capacity
  • Build and leverage relationships to enhance access to more professional resources
  • Assess, understand and respond effectively to a community need

Why Leadership Rochester

For me this year’s theme has been all about sustainability and growth. I’ve tried to be very purposeful about what I take on professionally and say yes to. It has been my goal to only take on opportunities that will foster my own professional growth and the growth of 540WMain. Applying to and now being accepted into Leadership Rochester especially after my experience in Byron Fellowship (which I still plan to write about) will foster my growth an not only as a professional but as a person. I look forward to sharing my experiences with you here on the blog and 540’s social media.

As always your continued support of my growth as Director and of 540WMain as an organization means more than I can ever put into words.
