About Jarael Adams

Jarael Adams is a native of Buffalo, NY and professional artist. He is married with two children and is the Founder/CEO of Paint The Town a paint studio in Buffalo, NY

When did you start your career as an artist?

JA:  I’ve been drawing my entire life; so I have always took opportunities to turn my art into a form of income. My first official business was my Airbrush business in high school. Fast-forward seven years, I started my Social Painting and Gallery Business. That was my most successful and recognized company.

Where did you get the inspiration for your work?

JA: I am mostly inspired by people; how “we” view life, how we deal with it and how we treat each other as humans. My biggest draw is by our process and our growth in different phases of life.

What makes you want to be an artist?

JA: I’ve never wanted to be anything other than an artist. Every job I’ve had, everyone knew that was what I aspired to be. I would always be found sketching or trying to incorporate my art at my workplaces.

For you how does art relate to wellness?

JA:  I do believe art incorporates with wellness in many ways. As I said before, process and growth is something that is vital to my art and a part of my wellness. It is measuring your growth and the process of how you get there. The process as an individual, is art. There is so much more I can correlate and share about how they can relate.

How do you stay healthy as a creative?

JA: For me to stay healthy and creative, it is very important for me to have a clear mind. Physical health is important as well.

What do you feel is the most challenging aspect of your career?

When you aren’t painting/drawing/photographing what are you doing?

JA: There is not a time where I am not painting or drawing. If I am not, I am with my family.

What is it that inspires you to keep going as professional artists

What’s has been your best experience so far as an artist?

JA: The best part about being an artist  to me, is being able to work for myself. Being my own boss is what keeps me active and willing to continue my profession.

What are you working on now?

JA: I am always working on multiple things at once, whether it be an art event, commissions, or simply my art. I currently have a few commissions and art shows outside of my gallery and I am reworking on an old piece.

What’s has been your best experience so far as an artist?

JA: My experiences as an Artist have been great. Painting live is one of my favorite things to do. Having my work hung in four places at one time is probably the craziest experience as an artist. My most memorable experience was doing a Paint Party in Belize.

What has been your biggest challenge as an artist? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?

JA: My biggest challenge as an artist is not having enough time or space to really work on my art. I would love to take four weeks to work on a few things of my own.

What advice do you have for others interested in pursuing as career in art?

JA: If I gave any advice to someone who wants to pursue a career in arts, I would tell them to work hard at building your craft. Everyone’s path is different; accept yours. Learn, grow and expand from others.

Is there anything else you’d like the readers to know?

JA: No
