When did you begin your art career?
Where did you get the inspiration for your art business brand?
NQ: My first Mentor Richard Bryant whom is a worldwide painter kind of sparked my interest. I admired the lifestyle he has and the amount of creativity he possesses.
What makes you want to be an artist?NQ: Honestly knowing through visuals I could possibly reach someone you know, maybe plant a seed or give a lesson or a story the viewer can relate to.
For you how does what you do as an artist related to
NQ: Painting is my spiritual uplifter. It’s like my personal church. It not only brings me joy but I feel like it’s my purpose to spread (the spirit) in these paintings , so doing my business honestly keeps me ahead in my spiritual life. As far as health goes I try to eat right and stay active , a healthy temple takes you a long way
What do you feel is the most challenging aspect of your career?
NQ: The most challenging part I have to say is fearing to step into a painting. You can easily overreact and become uncomfortable .
When you are not painting what do you like to do?
NQ: When I’m not working I’m trying to find something else creative to do. I might sew, write, or freestyle. I also like to read or hang with my family.
What is it that inspires you to keep going as an entrepreneur?
NQ: To be honest what keeps me inspired is the interest; the people and their reactions. That in itself keeps me going.
What are you working on now?
NQ: I’m working on a Outlet brand. I’ve teamed up with a Local Promotional Group called July Entertainment and together are ART NEUVO. Our first together event was at the French Quarter Cafe which was amazing experience.
What has been your biggest challenge as a company? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?
NQ: I’ll say my biggest challenge as a entrepreneur is still being in the spotlight. I’m such a introvert. Not shy but I prefer being alone sometimes. It’s a semi -bad habit but if you learn to let go of such thoughts that keeps you from secluding yourself.
What advice do you have for others interested in pursuing their own business.
NQ: My advice for anyone pursuing business is to never let anyone tell you you can’t do it or that you are not good enough. People will compare you to others and try to tear you down. If you believe in yourself, meditate on the vision, and keep the faith; you will always prosper .
