Artist of the Month Spotlight | Melissa Huang

We are happy to have Melissa Huang as our May Artist of the Month

Born in Chicago, IL, Melissa Huang received her BFA in Fine Arts Studio from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Her work has been featured both locally (Main Street Fine Arts) and nationally (Art House Press). Capturing the surrealism found in nature Melissa works with oil paints and other mediums to add human elements to her stunning and colorful landscapes.

She is a figurative oil painter currently working on a series of faceless, crystalline portraits. Melissa won Best in Show in the 2015 Women Artists of the Finger Lakes exhibition and has shown in group exhibitions at Dacia Gallery, Zeitgeist Gallery, and The Yards. Melissa interned with the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Melissa’s paintings have been featured included in Fresh Paint Magazine, Art House Press, and Emboss Magazine, Dialogist and more.

We are thrilled to feature her in our first Sunday Art Gallery Opening Sunday May 7th from 4-6 PM. Register to attend here
